Delta, EU World Bank Earn Applaud
The Delta State Government, the World Bank and European Union have been applauded for their holistic approach towards impacting positively on the socio-economic wellbeing of the grassroots populace in the state.
The Chairman of Ezeti Community Project Management Committee (CPMC), Deacon Samuel Odagwe and his compatriot in the Community Development Association (CDA), Chief Emmanuel Ndego, who gave the commendation at Ezeti in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state during the presentation of Cheque/project launch of their Electricity Extension project said that the project would bring meaningful development to the community.
Deacon Odagwe and Chief Ndego maintained that the project would be executed in tandem with the World Bank standard, adding that the Community would strive to shun shoddy job.
The duo also lauded the SEEFOR-Community-Driven Development Social Implementation Unit for its efforts at ensuring that their Community Development Plan (CDP) was approved, even as they pledged to operate an open door policy in the implementation of the project.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Rev.(Mrs) Omatsola Williams, represented by her Special Assistant, Hon. Henry Babine, commended the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for ensuring that Delta State Government fulfilled its obligation by paying its counterpart contribution and putting more smiles on the faces of rural populace thus fulfilling his ‘SMART’ agenda.
Rev (Mrs) Williams enjoined the people to adhere strictly to the material abstract in carrying the project, saying that any additional cost outside the CDP would be borne by the Community.
In their separate remarks, the SEEFOR Project Coordinator, Mr. Benso Ojoko, who is represented by the Administrative Officer in the office, Mr. Peter Monyei and a frontline Ezeti Community Leader, Engr. Greg Ojieh advised the members of the Project Management Committee to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering the project according to specifications.
