Okowa’s Entrepreneurial Scheme ‘ll Check Unemployment —Ofa
A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Dr. Henry Ofa, has described the entrepreneurial scheme of the state government and reinvigoration of the technical education as enduring programme that will significantly check unemployment situation in the state.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with journalists in Asaba, yesterday, Ofa said that “while 100 days may be too short,, a time for critical evaluation of a government, the state Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has within the period laid a solid foundation towards the full implementation of his prosperity for all agenda in spite of the current economic crunch in the country
While saying that unemployment has become a national issue, Ofa, however, noted that one of the greatest impediments to its solution is the nation’s inclination to theoretical orientation in the education curriculum without emphasis on practical framework that would equip the students to be self reliant upon graduation.
Ofa, who commended the governor for the massive work going on at Agbor, Ofagbe and Sapele Technical Colleges in the first phase, urged parents and Deltans to take advantage of this platform to equip their young ones with the necessary skills that will assist them in the future instead of continued reliance on public service jobs, that are in short supply.
He also commended Dr. Okowa for his all inclusive administration, which according to him, has brought everyone on board, noting that the governor has been fair to all ethnic nationalities in the state through his balanced appointments made so far.
While calling on all Deltans to continue to rally round this administration in its quest at bring prosperity to all, he added that the approval for massive road projects across the state and the release of about N400 million for the completion of Sapele Main Market are clear indications that the governor is out to raise the bar of governance while consolidating on the gains already recorded.
