Photos: President Buhari Arrives New York For UN General Assembly


President Muhammadu Buhari has landed at the JFK international airport in NewYork Thursday night, September 23, for the 70th assembly of the United Nations.

Nigerian leader was welcomed by the Nigerian permanent representative to the United Nations, Prof Joy Ogwu, permanent secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Paul Bulus Lolo and National Security Adviser Rtd Maj. Gen. Monguno Babagana.





The president left Katsiuna state with a 22-man delegation after celebrating the Eid in his home town in Daura.

On the agenda of Buhari’s talks, deliberations and interactions with the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki Moon, President Barack Obama of the United States, President Francois Hollande of France and others will be domestic developmental issues, bilateral relations, the war against terrorism, countering violent extremism etc.

President Buhari is set to address the world leaders’ summit on violent extremism to which he was personally invited by Ban Ki Moon during the secretary-general’s last visit to Nigeria.

It’s the second trip of President Buhari to the USA.

President Obama met with Nigerian president at the White House on July 20, Monday. The two leaders discussed security, Nigeria’s economy and battling corruption in its government.
