A MESSAGE FOR THE APC/LP AND SOME ETHNIC CHEUVENISTS IN DELTA STATE: LET GOV. OKOWA BE..
By Vincent Oshiagwu.
For years, I believed what was good for Delta State is good for all our people and I do not want to have any reason to doubt that grim fact. No difference ever existed so long we stayed as a family, even though we speak different tongues and politics ironically zoned us into NORTH, CENTRAL AND SOUTH senatorial districts.
Yet, we remain ONE indivisible family called DELTA STATE. But the hues and cries in recent times by the APC/LP and some ethnic cheuvenists is making me wonder if we own this state together or a particular tribe has the monopoly of leadership.
However, we, the DELTA NORTH (Anioma) people still stand firm on that tripod with a focal point of unity and integration and ever ready to sustain it. Why the hue and cry that a Delta Northerner is at the helm of the state's affair after the other two sister senatorial districts have done same for 16 years of 8 years each? Isn't that greed and wickedness? I find these questions strange and difficult to comprehend
.
Nonetheless, this is the message : We, the Aniomas have fought for our place in the sun and history and have won it. It will be our business to see that we retain this place in the sun and surmount all challenges so that the rays of that sunlight may exert a fruitifying influence upon our brothers and sisters in the other senatorial districts.
Even those who have turned themselves into political opponents are not exempted from the rays of this sunlight. The PDP/Okowa-led government is at 360 degrees to touch and connect all angles from ONE point.
This is our chance. Let us be. Let Gov. Okowa be. Eight (8) years is not eternity.
Long live Delta State.
