We ‘ll Give Asaba Befitting Facelift, Says Ofuani

The Director General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Clement Ofuani, says they would stop at nothing in giving Asaba a face life that befits the capital city of oil-rich Delta State that everybody will be proud of.

Chief Ofuani stated this when he played host to the member representing Aniocha South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Chief) Angela Nwaka, and her team in his office.

He described the agency as a noble step taken by the present administration, promising that they would do their best to justify the establishment of the agency.

“Our mandate is to do a job that is very important to the people. We know that expectations are high. We are in a very depressed economy, but we promise to live up to expectations and turn the capital city around for good”.

According to him, discipline and order would be strictly enforced, stressing that illegal structures, such as buildings without approved plans and those built on natural waterways would be demolished in order to give Asaba the facelift it deserved.

His words, “We will be firm and fair in the discharge of our duties. We want to have a decent environment that everybody will appreciate and be proud of”

He commended the lawmaker and her team for the visit, noting that she was the first person to pay him a courtesy visit after his appointment.

Earlier in her remarks, Chief Nwaka congratulated Chief Ofuani on his appointment, describing him as a round peg in a round hole.

The lawmaker, who said that she was humbled and highly honoured for having the rare privilege to introduce Chief Ofuani at the State House of Assembly after his nomination and subsequent clearance by the Assembly, added that she was proud to be associated with Chief Ofuani “our great leader”.

“We are behind you. We believe in you. We will follow your footsteps”, the lawmaker affirmed.
