Okowa Will Give Deltans Needed Development –Captain Sinebe

THE former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Captain Pius Sinebe, has said 100 Days is not enough to judge or assess a man in office, saying the Okowa administration has great focus to deliver the infrastructural and socio-economic needs of Deltans.

Captain Sinebe who spoke in an interview with our correspondent in Asaba during the week said Governor Okowa needs enough time to kick-off promptly considering the financial situation he met on ground after his inauguration.

The chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party described Governor Okowa as an intelligent man who has great focus through his SMART agenda of prosperity to develop all parts of the state.

“Those projects he felt are possible to handle, he has done well in those areas. If you go to Songhai and following what is happening, most youths have been taken off the streets and if you go to some communities, you will see that arrangements have been made for certain areas to kick off promptly like technical education is being considered.

“By the time we came some hospitals were abandoned for more than one year and have started functioning and admitting people. There are projects that are very necessary to be done. I think he is taking his time to plan promptly”, Captain Sinebe noted.

He said the governor has tried in the areas of salaries payment within his 100 days in office, saying almost all the local government councils in the state were closed down and it was near the workforce going on total strike because of backlog of salaries, saying today the story has changed for better.

“I can categorically say the governor is doing well; the 100 days have been very useful; it has been packed with a lot of planning and added values to human beings”, said captain the sinebe.

According to him, some ministries and agencies have been reformed by the governor; like the DLA that is almost dead has been reconstituted for optimally performances in the state, saying the Okowa administration has started constructing some drainages in Asaba and other parts of the state to solve erosion and flooding problems in the state.

He therefore called on Deltans to give Okowa a chance to rule the state peacefully, adding that the baseless litigations going on in the court today, which, he described as unnecessary will further, distract the focus of the governor.

Captain Sinebe, specifically called on their brothers in the Delta Central Senatorial District to be patient with the Okowa administration to enable him delivers the dividends of democracy to the people, adding that the Delta Central and South Senatorial Districts have taken their governorship slots and that Delta North should be allowed to rule the state through the Okowa administration to have his eight years peacefully.

He said “let no senatorial district believes it can do it alone; I can vote and get the governorship”, saying they need the other two senatorial districts to work with them.
