Don’t Leave Children’s Training To Only Teachers

PARENTS and guardians have been advised to nurture and train their children for the future, instead of leaving the burden on their teachers alone.

The wife of Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa, who gave the advice yesterday during the commissioning/official opening of Perfecta Montessori School, Asaba, said that some parents have failed on their role in training up their children.

She blamed the indiscipline and ugly reactions of children to neglect by parents who leave the fate and discipline of their children in the hands of teachers.

She commended the proprietress of the school, Dr. (Mrs.) Chika Enueme, whom she described as a woman that loves education, adding that has been with her from the time she started building the school with her late husband, Dr. Joshua Enueme.

While also appreciating the teachers for the great work they did for the children within the short period, Dame Okowa added that such school is the type needed in the state.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Chinedu Ebie, commended the proprietress of the school for her giant strides in erecting a befitting private school, adding that the school had embraced the style of teaching of the Montessori which goes after their name.

The commissioner said that the ministry will ensure that the school really maintains the good standard of which they started with.

In his exaltation, Pastor Idia Aidevo, the Senior Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Infant Jesus Road, Asaba, thanked God for His faithfulness in seeing the proprietress throughout the building of the school, adding that it might be possible to start a project and not completing it because if God is not with them, nothing will work out.

Earlier in her welcome address, Dr. Mrs. Enueme said that the journey towards Perfecta Montessori School spans over two decades which was the brain-child of her late husband, Dr. Joshua Enueme and herself.

She said that the perfecta journey was aimed at providing quality education for the ever increasing population, reducing illiteracy to its barest minimum and ultimately develop great minds that would help build the nation and participate meaningfully in the global arena.
