OKPAMS FOUNDATION JOINS PDP

Ahead of the 2015 general election, Okpams Foundation which was previously in an opposition party on Monday December 29, 2014, joined the PDP in Ward 1 Owa-Oyibu, Ika North East Local Government area.

The defection took place at an enlarged meeting of the PDP executives in Ward 1 at the residence of the party chairman. In a statement by the chairman of Okpams Foundation, Mr. Benjamin Benny, he noted that the defection came as a result of the need for a collective effort in ensuring that Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa wins the governorship election so as to attract good governance in Delta State.

Mr. Benny stressed on the fact that Okpams Foundation is a formidable group which has been in the fore front of empowerment especially to the youths and women to give them a better life. He said the group has seen that Sen. Okowa is a man of the people who has the interest of all at heart, hence they decided to put their weight behind his aspiration to ensure he gets 100% vote cast in the ward. He enjoined all other opposition parties to joins hands with them in the PDP to deliver Sen. Okowa.

In a response by the PDP chairman of Ward 1, Mr. Godwin Diken, enjoinedthe decampees towork for the PDP and ensure all PDP candidates are elected. Also speaking, the PDP Publicity Secretary in Ika North East Hon. Obiaigwe Hubert said that the PDP is receiving them wholeheartedly because they want to deliver Okowa. He urged them to put in their best at ensuring the PDP wins all offices.

In the same vein, a community leader Comr. Friday Daniel alias Kpake also enjoined the decampees to work tirelessly for Sen. Okowa at the polls.
Members present at the meeting include, Godwin Diken, chairman Ward 1, Abel Njoseh, Vice chairman, Innocent Ogboi, Secretary and other executive members.
