I CAN’T JUST DEVELOP ONLY IKA LAND; OKOWA SHOCKS HIS OWN PEOPLE
By Fejiro Oliver
The ever busy markets in Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Area voluntarily parked up today, as the Senator Ifeanyi Okowa team touched their soil.
The team who were naturally at home being the birth place of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate was received like Christ during the triumphant entry to Jerusalem, as they all came out in their numbers to welcome their son home.
Speaking during the campaign at Ika South where they first disembarked, one of the ex frontline candidates during the PDP guber primaries, Sir Anthony Chuks Obuh that the population that graced the ceremony is “to confirm that Ika South has been colonized by Okowa. We are standing with him strongly and marching solidly behind him”
Speaking at the venue, Okowa dismissed other political parties in the state as “kwe kwe”, who only exist on the pages of newspaper, noting that PDP remains the only party in Delta that has been stable and proven to the people that they mean well for them. He pleaded with them not just to show solidarity with him by coming to campaign venues but to go to their various wards to collect their permanent voter’s card which they will use in voting for him.
In Ika North East, which is his exact home was an overflow of the electorates. It was another glorious homecoming as the governorship hopeful danced happily to the stage singing the apostolic song, ‘My helper” and after blessing the people for honoring him by leaving their various businesses and workplace, he went into another spiritual song; this time, one of his all time favorite, ‘I am standing on the rock’.
And suddenly he removed his cap for the people, explaining that “I am removing my cap to honor you because you have honored me”. He charged them to collect their voter’s card to enable them complete the cycle of support for him.
“I need not tell you what I will do because this is home. You know me and I know you”, while promising to bring massive development to Ika land through his SMART agenda. As a governor, he told the teeming electorate that he will work for them and not his pocket.
“As we build Ika South and Ika North East, we must build other places, because where there is justice and equity; there is progress”, he stated.
