Okowa Pledges Support To Obi Akaeze I


… Lauds Successful Emergence Of Obi Of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom

DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has lauded the successful emergence of HRM Agbogidi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze I as the Obi of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking when the monarch accompanied by the Chairman of the Council, Chief Isaac Anwuzia; the Regent, Prince Anthony Ofulue; relatives and Palace Chiefs paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Asaba, Governor Okowa observed that though, the manner with which the immediate past monarch, HRM Edward Ofulue III passed on was condemnable, the successful emergence of HRM Agbogidi Akaeze I was a signal that Ubulu-Uku Kingdom was on the part of progress.

While noting that the Obi was still in school, which prompted the appointment of a Regent, he said that the Delta State government would give him, members of his family and his Kingdom necessary support.

Governor Okowa advised the Obi to be conscious of the fact that his people and members of his Kingdom are waiting for his return to apply his experience in leading them during his course of study abroad.

“We want to encourage you to know that as you study, you have your people back home that you would have to administer their culture and customs as their royal father and we hope that soon, you will be through with your studies and bring your experience to bear on the administration of your Kingdom,” the Governor said.

Governor Okowa use the occasion to assure the people of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom that those who were involved in the untimely passage of Obi Ofulue III would face the wrath of the law, disclosing that arrests have been made while security agencies were on the trails of others that were yet to be arrested.

It could be recalled that HRM Obi Ofulue III was kidnapped by kidnappers and in the process, lost his life.

Earlier in his speech, Obi Akaeze I thanked Governor Okowa, the government and people of Delta State for the show of love during the trying times of his Kingdom and called for support to enable him succeed as the Obi of Ubulu-Uku.
