Lionel Messi Becomes The First Player In History To Move Past 300 La Liga Goals
Lionel Messi moved past 300 La Liga goals as Barcelona moved six points clear at the top of the table with a 3-1 win at Sporting Gijon on Wednesday.
Barca coach Luis Enrique also made five changes, but the star front three of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar started after their incredible display in the 6-1 thrashing of Celta Vigo at the weekend.
The Barcelona ace reached the landmark when he opened the scoring against Sporting Gijon on Wednesday night, and he added his 301st not long afterwards.
However, that haul only ranks him fifth among the highest scorers in Europe’s major leagues.
