7 cult members arrested during initiation in Edo
BENIN—NO fewer than seven suspected members of Black Axe, a secret cult group, have been apprehended by security agencies at Emuhi community, a suburb of the university town of Ekpoma, Esan West Local Govern-ment Area, Edo State.
Vanguard learned that the suspects were arrested by a combined team of military, police and civilian anti-cult group, while initiating new members into the cult.
Following a tip-off, the security agents had mobilised and sensing the presence of security agents, the cult members began firing gunshots.
Seven of them were arrested, while many others escaped with bullet wounds, abandoning their charms, regalia, initiation concoction, cut-to-size guns among others.
It was gathered that three of those arrested were from higher institutions in Lagos, Imo and Auchi.
