DELTA 2015:SENATOR DR IFEANYI OKOWA IS THE BEST QUALIFIED ASPIRANT TO BE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE BASED ON HIS COMMENDABLE ACHIEVEMENTS -Mr Onianwa Austin
As Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa attracted the following projects to his Constituency- the on-going construction of Otor/Ebu Bridge in Oshimili North linking Delta & Edo States. He also facilitated the construction of 6.5km road in Umuda in Asaba, Oshimili South. Still on his achievements, villages in Delta North like Ebu, Ute-Ogbeje, Agbor-Nta & Utagba-Uno have been electrified through his efforts. The just completed block of three classrooms with an office & a water system toilet in Ibusa is part of his constituency project. On water projects, Okpanam has a functioning Solar Powered Borehole which is part of Senator Okowa's Constituency Project.
Etua-Eliogo, Etua-Etiti, Ibrede in Ndokwa East & West respectively, Aleuku-Unor in Ukwuani, Ejeme-Aniogor in Aniocha South & Abavo in Ika South now have water facilitated by our Senator.
Today, through the instrumentality of Senator Okowa the Federal Medical Centre in Asaba has a new Gynaecology/ Orthopaedic complex to help address the infrastructural gap in the centre.
Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has through the Nigeria Communication Commission(NCC) brought & supplied over 100 Computers each to Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic & College of Education, Agbor. It is imperative to mention here that two(2) schools are being assisted with IT- infrastructure. These schools are- Westend Secondary School, Asaba & Secondary Commercial
School, Owa-Alero.
Senator Okowa's empowerment programme, created shock waves throughout the length & breadth of our Country Nigeria. On the 21st of March, 2o14, he gave out the following as empowerment to youths & our women-
>150 Tricycles for transport
>9 Ambulances, one each to Local Govt Councils in Delta North to assist in PHC delivery & referral
>One Nissan Bus to Delta State Primary Health Care Agency to assist in the monitoring of PHC departments.
>150 sewing machines
>150 Grinding machines
>250 women, each received some money to support her petty business
>50 Deep Freezers
>50 Photocopying Machines
>50 Computer sets & its accessories.
I am glad to mention here that Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa sponspored many Bills including that on Prevention & Control of Sickle Cell, Bill on National Health Insurance & Bill on HIV/AIDS discrimination, just to mention a few.
Within this his first tenure & as a first comer, I am convinced beyond any doubts that Senator Okowa has performed creditably well & so has set a very big pace for his successor, come May 2015 to follow & improve upon.
To this end, I make a clarion call on Deltans to support massively the Governorship ambition of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa come 2015. He is a man with wealth of experience in Political Leadership & a Beacon of Hope for Greater Delta State
