The gunmen knocked on the gate of the house and it was Stephen who went to open the gate thinking it was visitors. The suspected criminals grabbed the boy and pushed him into a waiting taxi.
The unnumbered taxi sped off along the Moshood Abiola way. Neighbours reportedly gave chase but were forced to stop when the kidnappers started firing sporadically.
Mucipay, the father of the victim said the kidnappers had not made contact with the family and that he could not name a single person who could be responsible for the criminal act.
“I do not suspect anybody because I did not have any misunderstanding with anyone, neither did my wife.
“The boy was at home with his mother and other children when the incident happened. And we have yet to be contacted by anyone.”
He urged anyone who had useful information to contact him or the nearest police station.
