An erstwhile Commissioner, who represented Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe Local Government Areas on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Henry Ofa, while moving the motion for the confidence vote on the illustrious son and daughter of the state during Oghara Elite Forum’s courtesy visit to Erhiatake Ibori, member, Delta State House of Assembly, said apart from the Governor’s exemplary leadership traits, he has also earned his marks, through the appointments of several Urhobos into his government including the Managing Director of DESOPADEC, an indigene of Oghara.

Chief Ofa assured Deltans that if the Governor could achieve this laudable feats in just six months into his government, where several Deltans have been empowered through his skill acquisition initiatives and other employment strategies, sound educational programmes for Deltans at the end, the state would be better, appealing that Deltans should support him through prayers and cooperation so that he could realize all his dreams for them.

The President General of the group, Mr. Tony Omene, who earlier read his address before the Honourable member who is representing Ethiope West Local Government Area at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori, explained that his body is a socio – cultural organisation which has evolved over the years to serve the Oghara people as the foremost nation in Urhobo land.

He explained before the Assembly member on their role during the last election which increased her chances of winning, especially referring to the initiatives of Chief Ofa, who suggested that they campaign round Ethiope West Local Government Area to sensitize the people on the need to vote for Okowa, Erhiatake, Amori, Idisi and all PDP candidates, which paid off with the people supporting PDP candidates in all the places they visited.

He told Hon. Ibori that even though they had in the past congratulated her through the print and electronic media, they were also in her house to formerly congratulate her, while appealing to her also to make Oghara great through meaningful and articulated discussions in the legislative chamber and as well use her political goodwill to create for herself a good name to become a woman of substance in Nigeria and the first strong Urhobo woman to dominate the Nigerian political space which her father, Chief James Ibori is known for.

Hon. Erhiatake Ibori, who with the council Chairman and other officials of the council received Oghara Elite members, commended them for their support for her during the election, assuring that all the issues raised during their inactive sessions would be addressed, while immediately constituting committees that would from time to time handle matters bordering on development in the area.

She thanked the group for the regard they have for her office as well as the governor of the state whom they believe in, assuring that Ethiope West Local Government Area will be considered in all aspects of development especially Oghara in particular, appealing to them to continue to pray for her, which is the only way she could do more.
