Folakemi was returning from her shift in the hospital when the hoodlums attacked her with a machete. Her right hand was nearly severed. Fortunately she survived the attack. That is her above after surgery.
According to residents of the area where the attack took place, the violence is mainly perpetrated by locals and it has been going on for a while. A few weeks ago, they broke into the hospital's lab and attacked the technicians and also broke into the doctors quarters to do same and carted away their valuables.
