The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have sent a clear warning signal to other political parties, especially the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) and the newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC) over their seriousness towards the forth coming by- election to fill the vacant seat of Delta Central Senatorial District which resulted as a result of the demise of the former occupant, Late Senator Pius Akpor Ewherido.
The message came from no other than the number one citizen of the State, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan who stated in clear terms that the ruling party must win the forth coming by- election even as he disclosed that he has not anointed anybody for the election.

Governor Uduaghan who stated this while addressing party faithful at the Government House, Asaba, however said that the dream can only be realized if the party featured a popular and generally acceptable candidate.

He said, “I have not anointed anybody for the forth coming by- election in Delta Central. People are only using my name. But we must get it this time around. And this means everybody must work hard to present a popular and generally acceptable candidate for the election. We must complete the circle”, Uduaghan disclosed.

Governor Uduaghan who said plans are already at advanced stage to conduct local government election in the state, also informed the gathering that the list for appointments into Boards of Parastatals and Agencies was ready and would be released within the next two weeks.

Still on empowerment, he said the administration have concluded plans to increase the number of beneficiaries of the Local Government Women and Youth Empowerment Development Committee to something in the neighbourhood of 20 per LGA.

This aside, he said other empowerment schemes such as the Transport and Environmental Marshals were also deliberately planned to provide jobs for unemployed Deltans.
