Delta Assembly Passes 2016 Appropriation Bill
THE Delta State House of Assembly yesterday resumed plenary after the Christmas and New Year holiday with a promise to redouble its efforts at enhancing good governance and quality of lives of Deltans.
Our correspondent reports that a major highpoint of the plenary, the first for the year was the passage of the Delta State Appropriation Bill 2016.
The Hon. Ehriateke Ibori-led House Committee on Finance and Appropriation had submitted its report on the bill on the floor of the House, leading to the suspension of orders 77, 78 and 79 of the House rules to enable the third reading of the bill.
The motions to that effect were moved by the House Majority Leader, Hon. Tim Owhefere who also moved for the passage of the bill.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya, while welcoming members asked all to brace up to the ever-evolving and unfinished business of state development as the months ahead will no doubt be challenging.
