LATE OLU WAS A PEACEFUL MAN- OKOWA
DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has described HRM Ogiame Atuwase II as a man of peace who contributed immensely to the growth of the nation.
The Governor said this when he paid a condolence visit to the Itsekiri people on the demise of the late Olu.
According to the Governor, the late Olu as the Chairman of the Delta State Executive Council contributed immensely to the peaceful co-existence of Deltans.
While assuring that the state government will be actively involved in the burial programme, Senator Okowa said
"Until the conclusion of his burial ceremony, he is still the chairman of the state TraditionalRulers Council and beyond being the Olu of Warri, he worked for a peaceful state,"
"I felt I should come over to ask how we are faring for us to have a befitting, peaceful burial and the successful installation of the Olu designate." Governor Okowa said.
He emphasized, "Know that as a state government, we are with you all the way, we want to let you know that we are going to be partners in progress, we share in your sorrow, we also share in your joy for taking a decision on the Olu's successor in a peaceful manner."
The Regent of Warri Kingdom, Prince Eroro Emiko thanked Governor Okowa for his concern towards the progress of Itsekiri nation and Delta State in gerneral.
He expressed satisfaction with the interest of Governor Okowa towards a successful burial ceremony of the late Olu and a peaceful installation of a new one.
