Come, Invest At Home, Okwuofu Tells Deltans
THE Chairman, Delta State Civil Service Commission, Chief Nkem Okwuofu, has called on Deltans living in other parts of the country and in the Diaspora, to come home and invest in the state in order to complement the state government’s efforts in creating wealth and jobs for the people.
Chief Okwuofu made the call while commissioning Didoz VIP Lounge [Nite Club] located on DBS Road, Asaba.
She commended the proprietor of the club, Hon. [Engr.] Fidel Onwordi, who is based in Lagos for investing in his state, saying that the state government was committed to providing the enabling and conducive environment for investors to invest in the state.
She said that Hon. Onwordi’s decision and initiative to invest in the state was a right step in the right direction, pointing out that government cannot employ everybody.
“I must commend you for your initiative to invest in your state. This will go a long way to not only reduce youth unemployment in the state but also boost the revenue of the state. My prayer is that this place will blossom for the service of humanity and to the glory of God”
In an interview, the proprietor of Didoz VIP Lounge, Hon. Fidel Onwordi, said his decision to invest in the state was to “empower my people” through employment as well as boost the hospitality industry aimed at enhancing the revenue base of the state.
The former aspirant to the House of Representative in the last general elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP], whose philosophy “service to humanity”, maintained that he would continue to contribute his quota to the betterment of humanity and society in general via empowerment and job creation.
The highpoint of the occasion which was attended by the Chairman, Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Chuks Oseme, Engr. Emeka Nwaobi , Hon. Jaunty Okwudi, former Chairman, Aniocha North Local Government Area, among other dignitaries, was the cutting of the tape to declare the club open by Chief Nkem Okwuofu.
