DELTA 2015: SENATOR IFEANYI OKOWA HOLDS TOWN HALL MEETING WITH IKA NATION.

It was a bizzare of activities yesterday, March 13, 2015, as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the upper chambers of the National Assembly, Abuja and Delta State PDP flag bearer for the April 11 general elections, senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa held an enlarged town hall meeting with the two Ika Local Government Areas.

At the Ika National Hall, Agbor, Ika South LGA, it was the gathering of the creme de la creme of the PDP family in the LGA as they converged in great numbers to welcome their son for a round table talk on the way forward.

Among dignitaries present at the well attended meeting includes Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the South-South Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Azeh, the LGA PDP chairman, Mr. Fred Ofume, the LGA chairman, Queen mother, Mrs. Victoria Ikechukwu, Mr. Andrew Obiazi, Mr. Nwachukwu Ojougboh, Mr. Peter Idion, Mr. Nwagimeje, PDP stalwart in the area, Hon. Isaac Ulebor, the LGA's PDP House of Assembly candidate , Mr. Harrison Okafor to mention but a few.

The Town Hall meeting intended to address salient issues as it affects the LGA and indeed Delta State saw many person baring their minds on the challenges facing the PDP and people of Ika South LGA.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Ojougboh, who pledged his total and unalloyed support for senator Okowa, said unity is the LGA's best bet to ensure victory at the poll for the amiable senator Okowa. He said it is important for the people of Ika South and indeed Ika nation to know and understand that the task ahead of us is enormous and hence embracing unity is our best bet.

According to him, unity is a panacea for achieving and attaining great goals. " We should take and consider this meeting as the meeting of all meetings to put our house in order for the overall good of our people and victory at the poll for senator Okowa.

While recounting on the rigours and intrigues of the December 8,2014 delegates election, Dr. Ojougboh said "UNITY GAVE US GOOD RESULT". He said such unity that made Okowa emerge should be sustained for him (Okowa) to win in the upcoming elections.

In another related development, Mr. Ojemeh Monday, representing the physically challenged in Ika South LGA thanked senator Okowa for his love, concern and benevolence, which has taken the physically challenged far, a feat he said no political leaders in Ika South has ever done. He said the physically challenged are human beings who should be inculcated in the scheme of things in the LGA and state.

Senator Okowa, while speaking said, truly, unity is the key word. Resentment will not take us far hence should be buried if the party must grow. He thanked everyone for their support thus far and urged all not to relent, stressing that no one will be left out. In his word "the physically challenged will not be left out or ignored again"..

On Peter Nwaoboshi, the PDP candidate for the senate, Dr. Okowa appealed to the people to cast their votes for him and put the past behind.

At Trinity Hall, Owa, Ika North-East LGA, the story was not different, save the noticeable unity in the LGA. Prominent dignitaries at the occasion includes, Chief Ogadi, PDP chairman in the LGA, Hon. Pst Sam Obi, Mr. Ebonka, the LGA chairman, Dr. Nwugo, Hon. Victor Nwokolo, the Ika Federal Constituency PDP candidate for the House of Representatives, Abuja, Mr. Tony Elekeokuri, the LGAs PDP House of Assembly candidate and many others speaking in turns described senator Okowa as the spring where they've all fetched water at one time or the other.

Hon. Sam Obi while speaking urged everyone of voting age to ensure no single vote is given to opposition parties. According to him, it is PDP all the way.

Senator Okowa,while addressing the crowd said his government, when in place will address and elevate the status of the people especially the youths whom he described as the engine room of governance . He thanked them for always being available for campaigns, assuring them that none will be left out.

He also appealed to the Ika North-East people to ensure Peter Nwaoboshi's victory at the poll as senator to represent Delta North in the National Assembly as it will add to his own chances of winning.

The meeting came to a close at about 4:05 pm.
