IKA WEEKLY
Akumazi Progressive Union, has urged Deltans to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidates in the 2015 general elections.
The apex group, in a statement signed by its president-general, Chief Solomon Chukwuma, on behalf of Akumazi-Umuocha Community advanced reasons why President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi, Barr. Victor Nwokolo and Mr. Tony Elekeokwuri should be supported to be president, Governor, Senator, member House of Representatives and House of Assembly, respectively, noting that Senator Okowa as the first Ika man to be a candidate of a major political party should be supported by all as he has been known to be pragmatic in all the leadership positions he has occupied in the past.
Chief Chukwuma urged all and Sunday to support all other aspirant on the platform of Senator Okowa's party, PDP, as Okowa cannot afford to loss his senatorial district or constituency to another political party at this time that the Urhobos are watching to see his strength in the March 28 presidential and National Assembly election.
The community leader therefore appealed to all indigenes of Akumazi to abide by the decision, saying “as we are not ready to loose any vote to any other party. He wished the aspirants good health in their electioneering campaigns”.
