Police Arrest Three With Charms, Guns And Police Cap
Officers attached to the Police Ota Division on Saturday, January,2, arrested three suspected fraudsters in Ado Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun state for defrauding one, Mr Agboola of Humba village, Abuja of N5,000,000(five million naira).
The suspects were two males; Deji and Tunde Dudu and a female, Charity Ebele. They have since confessed to have perpetrated the act.
The incident occurred between September and December 2015 at a shrine in Meesan area, Ota, Ogun state.
According to a release on Tuesday by the State PPRO, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, items recovered from them includes; dangerous weapons like locally made gun, figurines, police camouflage cap and assorted charms.
The suspects, according to the statement, were today, January, 5, arraigned at the Magistrate court, in Ota.
The police command disclosed that it has reliable evidence to prosecute them, adding that, “they have been charged to court with conspiracy, unlawful possession of fire arms and police uniform, obtaining money under false presence etc”.
The suspects, were arrested by police detectives attached to Ota Division of the command at different locations within the state.
According to the statement, the police upon receiving the complainant that fraudsters were obtaining money under false pretense swung into action and got them arrested.
It was further gathered that the DPO of Ota Division personally supervised the investigation. He alongside his men visited the shrine at Meesan area, Ota where they rounded up the suspects.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Abdulmajid Ali warned criminals to steer clear of the state, threatening that, “the state will be made hot for them and their agents”.
Ali affirmed his zero tolerance for criminal activities and cultism, as anyone caught will be made to face full wrath of the law.
Meanwhile, a 3–man gang of suspected kidnappers has been arrested by a team of police officers in Imo state.
The gang allegedly abducted, murdered and buried a 63 year- old-woman, Mrs Ogor Omereji, after collecting ransom of N500,000 from the family members.
Investigations reveal that the abductors were the nephews of the deceased.
