God ’ll Heal Our Land, Says Okowa
Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has warned against any restriction to the number of persons coming to worship God at the morning devotions of the Government House Chapel, Asaba.
The governor gave the warning yesterday while speaking at the Nine Lessons and Carols of the Government House Chapel, Asaba.
According to him, “I hope there is no restriction at the gate for those coming to worship God at the Chapel? Every day, we celebrate our Lord, Jesus Christ and I know that you pray at home, but, this (the Chapel) is a place you can start your day because, it will do all of us a lot of good if we come here to worship every morning, we will be glad to receive this number of persons we are seeing during this Carol during the morning service.”
The governor, who commended the organisers of the event, prayed for the country, saying, “the Lord will heal our land; there may be challenges everywhere but, God is able and He never fails, you shall be blessed in the rest of this year and may the Year, 2016 be a year of blessing to all of us, Delta State and the country.”
Governor Okowa took the first lesson at the occasion, while his wife, Edith, took the second lesson and the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro took the third lesson.
Others who took lessons at the festival which was also, attended by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Ebiere Otuaro include, the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Mr Festus Ovie-Agas.
The Chaplain of the Chapel, Venerable Charles Osemenam in a sermon, said, God never fail and “when he opens a door, nobody closes it, always look up to God and He will answer you.”“Nigeria is destined to survive because, the country was fearfully and wonderfully made,” the clergyman said. Prayers were offered for the country, Delta State, Governor Okowa’s administration and members of his family.
