DR. IFEANYI OKWOA AND THE GOVERNORSHIP RACE
IKA WEEKLY
It is blessing that he who occupies a position of honour such as the one to sit at the Government House Asaba did not get it on a platter of gold. It will be a great blessing to this state that the man that the cap fits and he who wears the crown wins the battle without having a particular demonic godfather. The road to success has never been easy.
The Okowa I know is the one that likes making history, he is persistently distinguishing himself among his equals. He is determined, calculative, politically advanced and humble to a reasonable extent. Above all, I think the struggle for Dr. Okowa to be there is a struggle for all positive thinkers in Ika land, and beyond. Who are those in the campaign team? What are the campaign materials, when did the campaign start, by who and at what rate? My fellow countrymen, the campaign has started since the day he joined politics as a as a secretary to Ika LGA but got to a high level of momentum gathering during his appointment as commissioner with the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori. May God bless Chief Ibori, all Oghara people that gave our able son, brother and leader the opportunity to serve in his cabinet with free hand to succeed to that extent. The campaign instrument is actually what he has done when he occupied various positions in particular when he was the commissioner for Agriculture, water resources, and commissioner for health, partially as the SSG of Delta State Government. Finally, as house committee chairman on health in the Senate. We salute your courage.
Moreover, it may not be necessary for every Ika son and daughter nor all Deltans to become active politicians just because someone has emerged as governorship Flag bearer of a famous political party in the state. There is division of Labour and variation in profession. The Doctors need to treat patient, the drivers to transport goods and services, teachers to teach, so also other professions to carry out their professional duties. However, where ever you go, whatever you do, always preach the gospel that Okowa is the right, best candidate and the next Governor of Delta State come May 29, 2015.
Must every politicians be in PDP? It will become less competitive and arrant nonsense that all politicians in Ika land or are in PDP. Who will be made Minority Leader, minority whip and so on in the house? That notwithstanding, in Ika land, I believe that if ten (10) political parties have their national chairmen, national secretary or state officers from Agbor, Owa, Abavo, Ute and other kingdoms will not make a difference rather, it will bring honour to us “All things being equal.” This is because on the last day i.e the election day, 90% of whoever you may be or any party you may belong to will definitely answer the clarion call of voting for the son of the soil and a great achiever. “Olor-ru-olor, Olor ewon ime.” ( we will achieve more result if we are work as brother)
Above all, the struggle or the campaign is not yet over until it is all over. I will like our friends and brothers to work very hard mainly in Delta South that is Isoko, Ijaw and Itsekiri. Those from Urbobo will as well work for their party flag bearer and a genuine politician with Okowea as the governor of , endless political promises will come to an end. Careless and prolong contract, unfinished projects, reckless spending and many other negative vices of governance will come to end. Let us therefore join forces to support Okowa in his governorship aspiration as the project is ours Evangelist Steve Young Obiazi
