FBI closes Brad Pitt child abuse investigation

The FBI has closed an investigation into the child abuse allegations filed by Brad Pitt's soon-to-be ex wife, Angelina Jolie against him, involving one of his children, an FBI spokeswoman said.
The accusation stemmed from an incident that took place on a private plane between Pitt and the oldest of their six children, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, giving the FBI jurisdiction.

The incident occurred one day before Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September. In the divorce she filed, she asked for sole physical custody of their 6 children but Brad is contesting that request. He is asking for joint physical custody of the kids.

In early November, the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services cleared Pitt of any wrongdoing. The FBI's Los Angeles bureau then confirmed on Tuesday that the investigation had been officially closed.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said in a statement

"In response to allegations made following a flight within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States which landed in Los Angeles carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation. No charges have been filed in this matter".
