2015: The Only Option Left For The North Is To Produce President - PDP Chieftain
Speaking to newsmen in Katsina, the former governor of the defunct Kaduna State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Lawal Kaita, has stated that northern Nigeria must join forces and produce the next president in 2015 to safeguard its integrity.
Kaita said the north needed to unite so as to put an end to the dehumanizing treatment it is currently receiving.
“What we need is a northerner who is passionate about the north and who will defend our integrity,” he said.
Kaita decried the current crisis in the ruling party. From his perspective, the party will die should the crisis not be resolved in the nearest future:
“PDP has been wounded. The breaking away of these seven governors and key figures is a serious injury to the PDP and if it continues, the PDP will die,” he said.
Chieftain of PDP said that the root of the crisis is in "the way the country and the party are being managed.”
