THE NEW MEDIA : UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL, MY CANDID OPINION

By Vincent Oshiagwu.

Quite frankly, it is perplexing to observe and read through lines the unnecessary and unwarranted hues and cries in the last few days about Gov. Okowa's idea of creating a new media outfit to complement the status quo for effective service delivery and information dissemination as it affects his government. This has left tongues wagging.

The uncontrolled many talks from some quarters to be honest makes no sense to me at all as they are uncalled for, especially as we share the same vision and purpose. Or are we not working for the interest of the same person, His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa?.

A deep insight and analytical view of the governor's action to create the new media, to my understanding is not to usurped anyone's power or undermine anyone's office as some persons want to make it seem but to strengthen and reinvigorate his media team. I think this is not a bad idea at all as there's always room for improvement..

As far as I'm concerned, this new development is long overdue and of utmost imperative if we must quench the malicious fire of the governor's political opponents who for the past few weeks have been having field days unchallenged attacking Gov. Okowa. Let us think fast and look inward to see that the governor did not make any mistakes trying to make his media team much more effective and viable.

Patriot Dantes Odogwu and Mr. Godspower Asiuwhu are both excellent team players and sound social media explorers who will never compromise standard to promote Gov. Okowa and ensure the general public are updated on the day-to-day activities of the governor. Two good heads, they say, are better than ONE.

I think we should be happy for this new development that brought in an internet warrior as Dantes Odogwu into the Gov. Okowa's social media team and not cast aspersions. Only the best is good enough.

It is saddening and most unfortunate that some persons now correlate this development with ethnic cheuvenism just to build mountain out of a molehill.

The truth in a nutshell is that with Dantes Odogwu and Godspower Asiuwhu on the Cybervilla daily, the opposition parties are in for many troubles. We did it before, we can do it again, even better.

We should, therefore, cooperate and be alive to our responsibility and avoid working at cross-purpose and win as always.

This is my candid opinion.

United we stand , divided we fall.

Long live Delta State.
