H.I.D Awolowo Burial Date Announced
The burial of the late Chief (Mrs.) Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, who died on Saturday, September 19, has been fixed for Wednesday, November 25.
The matriarch of the Awolowo family, will be laid to rest on her 100th birthday.
Rev. Omotola Oyediran, the eldest daughter of mama, disclosed this on Wednesday, September 23 to newsmen in Ikenne, Ogun state.
Mrs Oyediran thanked Nigerians including former President Goodluck Jonathan, his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, who recently paid a condolence visit to the Awolowo’s among others for the show affection upon the family since the death of their mother.
Commiserating with the family, Jonathan stated that the deceased enjoyed a rare advantage of living for extra 29 years in comparison to the biblical prescription of three scores and 10.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s former military head of state, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has described the death of Mrs Hannah Awolowo as a personal loss to him.
Babangida who sent a condolence message to the Awolowo Family on Monday, September 21, noted that the late Mrs. Hannah Awolowo was a great woman who lived an exemplary and selfless life.
