The Hand of God Clearly Evident In Okowa's Victory -- Otu Umunne Youth, India Chapter - Jonathan Onwuka.

As Deltans continue to savour the landslide victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governorship candidate in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in the April 11th governorship election, a socio - political pressure group, Otu Umunne Youth, India chapter, has ascribed his ( Okowa ) emergence as governor-elect as divine.

The group which made its position known in a press statement issued on Thursday, and signed by its Coordinator, Mr. Francis Isioma Echenim and Secretary, Mr. Chuks Flight Oyanne, noted that from events leading to the December 8th governorship primaries and the eventual emergence of Senator Okowa, the hand of God was clearly evident on him.

The group noted that the overwhelming votes given to Senator Okowa by Deltans was a testament of the strong attachment he had cultivated with the people of the state over the years, which they maintained was anchored on true love and mutual respect.

"Senator Okowa, has been able to build genuine relationship with the people of Delta State, without any recourse to ethnic consideration or political affiliation. He is a man who strongly believes in the unity and peaceful coexistence of the people of the state. He is indeed the pan Deltan leader we need at this stage of our socio - political history," the group stated.

According to the statement, Senator Okowa is sure to use his wealth of experience to improve the development index of Delta State, having shown exemplary leadership in the different offices he has held in past, where his performances were rated so highly.

The group therfore, called on Deltans to remain unwavering in their support for the governor-elect, assuring that he ( Okowa ) would give the state purposeful and accountable leadership, even as they urged those who lost in the elections to accept defeat and join in moving the state forward, saying, "the contribution of every one of us is needed to build a Prosperous Delta State."
