Zambia deports South African dancer, Zodwa Wabantu for performing without pant

Controversial South African dancer, Zodwa Wabantu, who is popularly known for performing without underwear, was deported from Zambia on Saturday, on the grounds that her performance would “undermine national values”.
“Zodwa has been deported,” her Zambian promoter Lucky Munakampe, confirmed the development, adding that she said she had flown out at 0520 GMT on a South African Airways flight.
Zambian musician Karasa Karayo was scheduled to launch his album on 10th March 2018 and the promoter for the show Sunset Sound Production, had lined up Zodwa to perform.
The organizers of the show said in a statement earlier this week that Zambia’s National Arts Council had rejected their application.
Zambia deports South African dancer, Zodwa Wabantu for performing without pant
(NAC) claimed that allowing Zodwa to perform in Zambia will be against the country’s national values adding that the application did not meet the three months period in which to apply for clearance. NAC further said Zodwa’s performance in Zambia would be against public interest.
“The Council stated that… Zodwa’s performances were not in the public interest and undermined our national values,” the statement said.
National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister, Godfridah Sumaili last week told state-run newspaper The Times of Zambia that Zodwa was not welcome in the country and was promoting immorality with her shows.
Zodwa says that when she confirmed that she was not wearing underwear, she was deported, reports Independent Online.

Zodwa said that she was not angry with Zambian authorities and hoped to return to the country soon.
“Leave them to fight, I will be back when they are ready to have me. There was so much fighting between them. I am just an entertainer who was invited to perform. I was stuck in the middle of it all. I would love to still perform in Zambia in the future.”
Earlier this week Zodwa told TshisaLIVE that she would go ahead with plans to perform in the country, despite suggestions that she would not be welcome by authorities over her decision to not wear underwear while performing.
“I think that people are just trying to sabotage me and the event. The underwear thing is my choice and I don’t understand why people are so upset. There are Christians who do much worse things behind closed doors.”
She said that authorities were hoping to pray for her and cast out her “demons” while she was in the country.
“I will never wear a panty. I won’t change who I am for them. Maybe they think they will pray for me or make me better. I survived 2017 and I will survive this year. They can go and *fuck* off if they have a problem with it.”

Police IG warns against inflammatory statements on Fulani herdsmen and farmers clashes

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has advised Nigerians to avoid making inflammatory statements and playing politics with the herders/farmers clashes to achieve genuine reconciliation.

Speaking during the launch of his book in Lagos, Idris said that the security challenges needed to be properly managed so as not to drag the country into unending crisis.

“This is the only way the country can secure genuine reconciliation among herders and farmers so that they can once again live in peace, harmony, love and avoid unnecessary loss of lives.” he said.

The police I-G said that even though President Muhammadu Buhari mandated the security agencies to arrest and prosecute offenders in the clashes, the nation needed serious conversation on the issue. “I have realised that the issue is beyond apprehension and prosecution of offenders: There has to be speedy dispensation of justice and the protection of the rights and interests of the suspects and victims of crime,” Idris said.

According to the police I-G, this is the only way people will have a sense of justice, peace and reconciliation. “It is my conviction that when there is security, justice, peace and reconciliation in any nation, civil strife can be avoided. Inter-communal harmony and reconciliation is easier when the people are convinced that the police and other security architecture can guarantee them their individual rights, security and justice,” he said.

Idris said that the public image of the police was not impressive and called on policemen to respect the rights of the people while performing their lawful duties. “While performing their constitutional duties of protection of lives and property, the police must do so within the confines of the law,” the I-G said.

Ukah Chides Oshiomhole Over Comments On Delta

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has chided the immediate past governor of Edo State and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, over his comments on Delta State.

The former Governor had at a mega rally of the party in Benin City, Edo State, on Friday declared that the party would extend its coast in the South South by installing an APC governor in Delta State.

However, Mr. Ukah, in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Mr. Sam Ijeh, in Asaba on Saturday, said that the choice of words, especially the use of ' by installing', by the former labour leader is a manifestation of his limited knowledge of politics as against unionism were he claims to be a master.

The Commissioner for Information expressed surprise that Comrade Oshiomhole, who is a leader of a party that has brought untold hardship to Nigerians, will be talking of installing a Governor in a state that is not his own instead of suggesting ways of how to make living bearable for Nigerians.

Mr. Ukah posited that with the numerous developmental projects going on in various parts of the state, Deltans are satisfied with the performance of the present administration and this was made manifest by the resounding victory recorded by the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in the recently conducted local government election in Delta State.

The Commissioner for Information advised the former Governor to first join hands with others in his party to put their house in order by conducting a successful national convention that is long overdue instead of engaging in a wild goose chase.

He said that Comrade Oshiomhole should not be deceived by fair-weather politicians who are leaving the PDP for the APC describing them as spent forces who feel uncomfortable with the reforms presently going on in the PDP.

Mr. Ukah said Delta was in safe hands under the leadership of Senator Okowa adding that those who will attempt to flex muscles with the Governor would be be denounced and disgraced by the people.

He said the likes of Comrade Oshiomole were responsible for putting Nigeria in comatose thereby taking the country that was on steady growth, several steps backward.

The propaganda used to deceive Nigerians into voting APC into power and now regretting their actions will not fly in Delta State, the Commissioner for Information said.

TMZ also disclosed that Nicki is not pregnant following the recent pregnancy reports.

Read TMZ full report below.

Nicki Minaj and Nas are donzo and she's definitely NOT pregnant ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... the rappers broke up a few weeks ago after the relationship ran out of steam. They've been dating since June 2017, but we're told living in different cities was just too much.

There were recent reports Nicki was pregnant, but we're told there's no truth to that.

Both superstars will be getting back to strictly biz, we're told -- Nas focusing on his record label and his chicken and waffles joint, Sweet Chick. Nicki's also juggling multiple business ventures outside of music.

We're told they respect each other, and there won't be any trash talking -- but, on the other hand, we're also told they won't be hanging out as friends either.

While all evidence points to Nicki and Nas trying REALLY hard to make it work -- sometimes ya just gotta cut bait.

This lady's flexibility is on another level *wink*

PREPARE YOUR HAND-OVER NOTE, SECONDUS TELLS BUHARI

▪Governor Wike congratulates new PDP National Chairman

Newly Elected Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has formally served the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) a quit notice, saying the political party has failed Nigerians.

Speaking after he was sworn-in following his victory at the PDP National Convention at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Sunday , Prince Uche Secondus argued that the APC's failure is premised on the party's flawed foundation and lack of ideas of development.

To emerge victorious at the National Convention, Prince Uche Secondus polled 2000 votes to defeat Professor Tunde Adeniran who polled 230 votes and High Chief Raymond Dokpesi who polled 66 votes.

He said, “In the words of the 34th President of the United States of America Dwight Eisenhower, ‘If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power’.

“Judging from this, it is crystal clear to all Nigerians, that APC is not a political party, but a body hurriedly assembled to seize power without a clear-cut plan for governance.”

He noted that the Peoples Democratic Party remains the only credible alternative that was founded on the platform of sustainable development.

“Those founding fathers had in mind, a prosperous and lasting democracy as captured in the preamble of our constitution, clearly stating their desire for a free and egalitarian society,” he said.

“Even in our perceived failure of 2015, we chose to abide by our strong faith in democracy, willingly conceding power to opposition, thereby elevating the democratic status of Nigeria. We are true democrats.

“I can, therefore, say without an iota of doubt that PDP’s contributions to the growth and sustenance of democracy in this country in the last 18 years remain unequalled,” he said.

The PDP National Chairman assured PDP members that the National Wooking Committee would lead the party to electoral victory in 2019.

He said: “With your mandate, I assure you that all necessary steps will be taken to avoid a repeat of our past mistakes. Indeed, we have learnt our lessons and by this convention, we are now set to forge a new path for our great party and Nigeria,” he said.

“Under my watch, internal democracy will be strictly adhered to with a deliberate policy to return ‘real’ power to the people. No more imposition, no more impunity. Every member of this party can from this moment consider him or herself an equal shareholder in our common destiny.”

He lauded those he defeated for the post of National Chairmanship, urging them to bring their experience in the ŕevival8

“You have every cause to stand tall and I now extend my hand of fellowship to you all. Let ‘Us’ rebuild, reposition and regain,” he said

The swearing in of the Newly National Chairman and other officials of PDP was performed by seasoned lawyer, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike congratulated Prince Uche Secondus and members of his executive committee on their well deserved victory, saying that the party will be re-positioned for greater service to the country.

He said that Prince Uche Secondus emerged through a credible process which will further strengthen the bonds of unity in the party.

He noted that Prince Uche Secondus comes into leadership with a track record of service and loyalty to the party, pointing out that the new party chairman and his executive committee will rebuild the PDP.

Chairman of Convention Planning Committee and Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa said the party is going into the future more united.

One of the contestants of the post of the National Chairmanship, Chief Raymond Dokpesi said: "I write to thank you most wholeheartedly for voting at the just concluded Elective National Convention in Abuja. The delegates have spoken.I congratulate the newly elected Prince Uche Secondus led National Working Committee. You will recall that i said that the PDP must be the ultimate winner at the end of the contest.God bless the Peoples Democratic Party.Congratulations PDP as i wish all our members the best of luck. Speaking shortly after the emergence of Prince Uche Secondus as National Chairman of the party, Okowa who is the Governor of Delta State, said “PDP has had a very credible election”.

He thanked leaders of the party, the Governors forum, the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, security agencies, candidates that contested for different positions, the press and all those who contributed in different ways to make the convention a success.

Chairman of the electoral committee for the convention, Mr Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State described Governor Okowa as a workaholic whose drive made it possible for the PDP to have the best convention since the formation of the party in 1998.

Suswam said; “this is the first ever very transparent election convention that the PDP has ever had, it took Governor Okowa a lot of military tact for us to have what we have today.”
