Join Okowa To Move Delta Forward, Cleric Tells UPU, others
As the battle to reclaim and annul electoral victories in the just concluded general elections at the tribunal thickens, the National Coordinator of Movement for Democratic Equity (MDE), Evangelist Josiah Mashomi has appealed to the President of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Chief Joe Omene to prevail on Chief Great Ogboru, who was the flag bearer of the Labour Party and Chief O’Tega Emerhor, the All Progressives Congress party in the last gubernatorial elections to in the interest of the Delta State, stop all litigations against Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Evangelist Mashomi, who also appealed for the intervention of Chief Tuesday Enoge, the Urhobos and all Deltans to prevail on Chief Ogboru and Chief Emerhor to team up with Governor Okowa to make Delta a prosperous state, observed that litigations are clogs in the wheel of progress.
The Cleric spoke recently when the executive of Urhobo Support Group led by its national coordinator, Comrade Reuben Akporidoh paid him a courtesy visit, observed that while Chief Ogboru and Chief Emerhor have the right to go to the election tribunal, they should in the spirit of sportsmanship and in the interest of Delta State, support Governor Okowa to succeed in the delivering of his 5-point agenda.
He added that in the spirit of equity and fairness, Delta North should be allowed to have a peaceful and successful two terms of producing Governor after which, it would be the turn of Delta Central Senatorial District.
Evangelist Mashomi, who described Governor Okowa as a detribalized Deltan said all Deltans should rally round the Governor to enable him succeed.
He emphasised that the Governor would not discriminate and would be fair to all Deltans.
Earlier, Comrade Akporidoh informed the Cleric that they were happy with Governor Okowa’s administration, especially; with the fair appointments he has made which were evenly spread across the state.
