IN LESS THAN FIVE MONTHS IN OFFICE AS GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE, SENATOR OKOWA HAS PERFORMED CREDITABLY WELL.
By Williams Okowh.
There is a saying that"When the righteous rule, the people rejoice". This is exactly what Deltans are witnessing with the government of Delta State since Senator Okowa took over the mantle of leadership.
In less than five months as the chief executive officer of the State, Gov. Okowa has embarked on so many live-transforming projects across the state intended to better the lives of our people. I make bold to say he's performed political miracles and wonders in the educational sector.
No doubt, the State is heavily indebted , but a performer will always find a way out to give back to the society and fulfill his campaign promises of delivering on his five point S.M.A.R.T agenda.
Governor Okowa who promised to shock his critics with veritable projects before the end of his first tenure, is already surprising Deltans, even among his governors colleagues, with tangible projects and laudable programmes across the State which are too numerous to mention. Just in less than five months. Gov. Okowa has demonstrated that he's well groomed and prepared to give Deltans a robust and responsive governance, not business as usual.
A lot of life changing projects and programmes are ongoing in the State, we have the ongoing renovation and rehabilitation of all the Technical colleges in the State, engagement of over one thousand five hundred youths which cut across the three senatorial districts of the State with different skills acquisition, through the job creation programme, construction of long lasting roads across the State, upgrading the standard of Asaba International Airport, by providing the necessary requirements of an International Airport. To ensure economic diversification and Delta beyond oil, the governor through the State ministry of Agriculture, provided modern farming equipment such as tractors to farmer in the State.
These and many more governor Okowa has been able to achieved in less than five months in office, despite the financial challenges facing the State currently. I therefore enjoin Deltans to be patient with the governor and government of the state, because more wonders and miracles will be performed. Delta State is lucky to have a governor that has the passion to serve his people diligently, so let's encourage him, pray for him and give him the needed support to succeed. Delta first and always. All hands must be on deck.
Long live Delta State
