Bishop Lauds Parishioners For Contribution To Church’s Devt
THE Bishop of Issele-Uku Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Michael Odogwu Elue, has commended the parishioners of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, West-End, Asaba, for contributing immensely to the growth and transformation of the church.
Elue made this statement during a special thanksgiving mass in commemoration of Saint Patrick grotto and Virgin Mary statue, held in Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Asaba, saying that he is excited at the transformation which has taken place in the parish within a short period of time.
He complimented the parishioners of the church for their cooperation and support which they have rendered to the parish priest and other officials of the church, urging them to continue with the support for the good and development of the church.
Meanwhile , the Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Patrick Origho, who is also the Chairman of the occasion, encouraged the parishioners to always learn and imitate the life styles of the Saint in order to be better just like Virgin Mary and Saint Patrick.
Speaking with The Pointer, Origho applauded the Chairman, special thanksgiving committee, a Former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Mr. Austin Mowah, for contributing immensely to the achievement of Saint Patrick grotto and Virgin Mary statue, which is now in the church premises.
Origho said that, the reason the statues are put in the church premises is to enhance the worshipping spirit of the parishioners as well as to cultivate the right mind and attention for God both in their work and deeds.
Mr. Austin Mowah, who described how the idea of having Saint Patrick grotto and Virgin Mary in the church premises came to reality, added that the sacred monument is to enhance the spirituality of the worshippers and to add great value to their religious worship.
The height of the occasion was the unveiling of the Saint Patrick grotto and Virgin Mary Statue.
