100 DAYS IN OFFICE: OKOWA'S ELECTORAL PROMISES ARE BEING FULFILLED RELIGIOUSLY-Iron Gate
IKA WEEKLY
Speaking to newsmen last week at the unveiling of the rehabilitated water borehole project Batch ‘C’ by Corper Kizito Chijoke, Chief A.I Sonwu, the Eleme of Ute-Ogbeje Kingdom in Ika Northeast L.G.A posited that within a very short period, most of the electoral promises made by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to Deltans are being followed religiously. He said; “Senator Okowa came up with the SMART program of Wealth Creation, Peace Building, Agricultural Reforms, Education and Health Advancement and Urban Renewal adding that they are all beginning to yield good result. Lets call a spade a spade and not a garden fork, Okowa so far has done much within 100 days. He has been focused, patient and tolerant inspite all the numerous problems facing the state”, Chief Sonwu further stated that if not for the grace of God that is with Okowa, the huge debt burden including other myriads of problems is enough to pull him down. “Okowa is however not perturbed, he will surmount all the problems with the help of God”.
The Eleme of Ute-Ogbeje called on every body to cooperate with the governor as he alone cannot carry out the huge assignment of governance. He stressed that the outcome of the water borehole project in Ute-Ogbeje is already one of his achievements as the project is being rehabilitated during his tenure as governor. “We want everybody to put politics aside just as we appeal to Okowa to think less of all the people that are distracting him, he should remain focus”. The Eleme also reminded local councils to endevour to use local government allocations judiciously to reach the grassroot so that people can feel the impact of governance.
“If the councils fail to reciprocate what Governor Okowa is doing, then they ma be contributing to killing his initiative”, he commented.
