PPEB TO STIMULATE QUALITY EDUCATION IN DELTA ––Agbomah Ifeoma.
Newly reconstituted Post Primary Education Board (PPEB) in Delta State is set to institutionalize measures that would stimulate quality education in public secondary schools across the state, first member on the Board, Mrs. Ifeoma Okobia Agbomah, has said.
Mrs. Agbomah who was speaking in an interview with The Pointer shortly after she assumed duties in Asaba, disclosed that the Sir Patrick Akporuno-led PPEB would work assiduously to enhance productivity among staff of the Board.
In line with the vision of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration in the education sector of the state, she said, the PPEB would continue to do the needful in its determination to encourage field staff (teachers) in the Board to put in their best in the discharge of their duties.
The first member of the Board, who underscored the importance of regular training of personnel and proper manpower management, said that the PPEB would place high premium on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of its staff through training and re-training programmes.
“The importance of training and re-training programmes for our field staff cannot be over-emphasized as such programmes would sufficiently equip them with up to date teaching techniques that enhance teaching and learning process”, she added.
According to her, training and re-training programmes would, also, enable staff of the Board, especially teachers, to meet the objectives of the state government in promoting a sustainable standard of education in the state to the admiration of all Deltans.
Meanwhile, the first member of the PPEB has expressed appreciation to the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota to the growth and development of education in the state, even as she assured him and Deltans that they would not in any way betray the confidence reposed in them.
