AND SUNNY ONUESOKE GOT HIS HEART DESIRED APPOINTMENT FROM GOV. OKOWA. - Oliver Fejiro
I am sorry for not breaking this news yesterday morning when I got wind of it, but let's face it. If anyone can be counted as being most vocal in the media before the primaries, after and during the election and even up till this minute, the person is unarguably Hon. Sunny Onuesoke.
Most people were expecting him to be named the Commissioner for Information because of his media reach, but those of us close to him knows that Onuesoke does not want to be in the media field. Maybe I have to let this out now; he prefers the field work, where he wears helmet, boot and covering to inspect project and make sure they are up to standard.
He always wanted to still be in the same position he was under Uduaghan's regime, and ironically, it was Okowa who also gave him that position when he was SSG. It was the day of that appointment that he prophesied to Okowa that he will govern this state. Since then, he has not looked back in supporting Okowa. Despite being a government appointee, he went against Uduaghan directive that none of his official should attend Okowa's declaration at the Oshimili Arcade, and came there. He maintained his stand as an Urhobo man that an Anioma man in Okowa MUST be governor.
Today, he is officially the Special Project Director to the governor on Ughelli Asaba dualization. A position like this is not given to thieves who will loot the funds used in the project but to men of credibility and trust, which the governor has found in Onuesoke. A post which equals that of Special Advisers is for tested men who can deliver when due and the governor has made the right choice.
No other position would have best fit him for the great support he rendered Okowa during the election. It's a proof that the Urhobos are central to Okowa in the prosperity project. This is coming after another Urhobo man in Hon. Austin Ayemidejor was appointed Special Project Director on Asaba and Osubi Airports. Real men and political weights are mainly saddled with responsibilities such as this.
He never wanted a Commissioner position, or where he will sit in the office for AC to cool him, but where he can work and Okowa who cannot afford to have an uncompleted project has found him worthy and we can only pray that he delivers. Everyone will be satisfied at the end, as no one who truly worked will be left out in this prosperity mantra. With this appointment, the Ughelli Asaba road will soon be completed.
With Michael Akpobire, Dantes Odogwu, Egwunyenga Ifeanyi Mike and now Onuesoke appointment, the 10 desired appointees has been sealed and I can only say To GOD BE THE GLORY.
Congrats my senior brother, friend and boss. Hon Sunny Onuesoke
