Patience Jonathan Visits Late Mrs. Adisa's Family
First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan has described late Mrs. Abigail Adisa, the Coordinator of Women for Change and Development Initiative (WCDI) as a dynamic and dedicated woman leader whose sterling qualities were highly valued and would be greatly missed.
Mrs. Adisa was involved in a fatal road accident on her way back to Lagos after attending a programme organised by the National Council of Women Societies tagged "Celebration of Nigerian Women for Peace and Empowerment" and held in Abuja recently.
Speaking when she went to commiserate with the family of the deceased, in Ifako/Ijaiye local government area of Lagos State, Mrs Jonathan who offered words of comfort to the relatives of Mrs. Adisa assured them that she would not leave the family on their own during their trying period.
She also said that officials and members of the Women for Change and Development Initiative and the National Council of Women Societies would continue to visit them and offer their support. While praying for the soul of the deceased, Dame Jonathan also prayed that the Almighty would comfort members of the immediate and extended family and also give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
The eldest son of late Mrs. Adisa, Debo Adeshina, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the first lady for coming to their Lagos residence in person with members of her delegation, to sympathise and identify with the family.
The First Lady was accompanied on the visit by the President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Chief Mrs. Nkechi Mba and the national coordinator, Women for Change and Development Initiative, Princess Rabi Ibrahim, as well as other officials and members of the Women for Change and the NCWS.
