Delta State Crises: PDP may suspend former Delta commissioner Hon Dumbiri Uweh

The spoke person to the chairman of people democratic party (PDP ) has hinted embattled Hon Dumbiri Oweh Former Delta state commissioner could be suspended from the party if he fails to give cogent reason for his actions before the disciplinary committee of his recent outburst on party member and his recent anti party activities in IKa north east local government in Delta state.

There are strong indications that the Delta state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party may soon suspend the Hon Dumbiri Oweh over his association with the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta state Daily News And Analysis Of Nigeria (DNA) investigations revealed that the people democratic party ( PDP) had started compiling a list of what a stalwart who spoke to this DNA reporter described as Hon Dumbiri Oweh “many sins.” In addition to compiling the list, the party has asked the local PDP in Ika north east LGA to placed the Hon Dumbiri Oweh under watch to monitor his “future anti-party activities.”

Our correspondents gathered that senior party officials in Delta state were displeased with the former Delta state commissioner “open romance with the APC” and his presence at a rally organised by the APC in the state . The stalwart, who is a member of the PDP spoke to one of our correspondents in confidence, and said the leadership of the party considered the Hon Dumbiri Oweh's media publication speech against the former governor of Delta state Sam Obi as an act of indiscipline.He stated that the party would have overlooked Hon Dumbiri's“latest sin,” but decided to move against him because of his “growing misdeeds.”.“It is not for us to be washing our dirty linen in public. Whatever it is, we will handle it the way the party is supposed to handle it. Meanwhile, a group called Anioma Elder forum AEF has forwarded to the EFCC petition to investigate Hon Dumbiri Oweh during his period as commissioner in Delta state. Despite being accused of romancing with the opposition, he was also accused of embezzling while as a commissioner in Delta state.

In another development, Former Minister of Information and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark Wednesday charged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe allegation of corrupt enrichment, award of fictitious contracts and abandonment of contracts, after the collection of mobilisation fees between himself and the Minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday
