The President and Commander In Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, Dr
Goodluck Jonathan has changed gear in his efforts to bring to an end the
activities of the Islamic terror group, Boko haram in the Country.
Dr
Jonathan Boko Haram order the immediate deployment of 8,000 troops to
further boost the military presence in the North-east of the country
where the terrorists operate. The deployment will be under a new army
division in Maiduguri, named 7th Infantry Division.
Military
sources told Hope For Nigeria that the new army division will be solely
responsible for securing the entire North-East and seal off Nigerian
border with Niger, Chad and Cameroon where the terrorists get their
training and regroups for attacks.
President Jonathan also order
for immediate upgraded with the injection of more fighter and patrol
aircraft as well as helicopter gunships of the Nigerian Airforce Strike
Group with headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State, where some attack
aircraft of the Tactical Air Command are stationed.
Intelligence
source informed Hope For Nigeria that this new development, will help to
tackle the reprisal attacks from the frustrated Boko haram members and
increase the house-to-house search for the terrorists and their
supporters.
