Reports reaching us from New York suggest that Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, who had suffered severe injuries in an air crash in October last year, would be returning to Nigeria.
Suntai, after ten months in Germany and the United States' hospitals, was last week certified fit and ready to complete a long flight back to Nigeria this week by his medical team.
Two weeks ago, while at one of his compulsory therapies, the Governor reportedly told the doctors that he felt fit to return to Nigeria immediately. However, the health officials assigned to him recommended to wait till the end of last week for further monitoring, until a final report on his capability to undergo a long flight would be provided.
A dependable family source speaking from New York confirmed that arrangements were "in top gear" to ensure that the governor's return would be "open to the press and public". The source also confirmed that the governor would be returning to Nigeria "before the end of this week".
Explaining the arrangements, the source disclosed that they are being put in place in order to fault the insinuations and rumours that the Governor was going to be "smuggled" into Nigeria.
