Dame Okowa Urges Clerics To Follow Up Freed, Repented Prison Inmates
THE wife of the State Governor Dame Edith Okowa has advised prison ministers to effectively follow up freed inmates who gave their lives to God in the prison.
Dame Okowa gave the advise while playing host to the prison ministers Agbor chapter. She said although many prison inmates repent while in the prisons, ministers ought to collect the contact details of those inmates through their village church pastors who will nurture them in the fear of God until they become strong.
While commending the group for their great work towards the prison inmates, the Governors wife said that prison ministration is the greatest work God gave to everybody.
The Governors wife who said that she prefer to create a lasting legacy in the prisons, starting with scarcity of water which she found out at the Ogwashi-Uku Prisons and she tackled it immediately by giving them a bore-hole and some basic things they needed.
She urge them not to relent in their prayers for the State because Delta is a praying State and for us to achieve anything good, we need to go on our knees.
Earlier the leader of the group chaplain Samuel Ogwuh said that they came to solicit with her Excellency on the victory of her husband Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and also to intimate her of the activities of the prison ministers with some of the constrain they face while on evangelism as mobility which made them difficult to convey their members from different places and also transporting the freed inmates to their various Local Government or State.
Also in another development, the Governors wife played host to members of Asaba Anglican Women Association, Home and abroad led by Mrs. Mercy Menka.
Dame Okowa who thanked the group for coming to rejoice with her on the victory of her husband said that the victory is not just the victory of Okowa but rather it is a victory of everybody. Pointing that God is on the throne in Delta State.
The Governors wife who promise to attend to their programme coming up soon, urge them to continue to pray for this administration for God makes a way where there is no way.
Earlier the leader of the group Mrs. Mercy Menka stated that they came to expressed their gratitude to God and rejoices with the Governors wife on the victory of her husband and also intimate her of their activities and project they have at hand.
Highlight of the occasion was the decoration of the governors with the Association wrapper by the leader of the group Mrs. Mary Menka.
