Group Commends Atiku For Creating Jobs Despite “Serial Betrayal”

A socio-political group, Adamawa Think-Tank, has commended former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for creating jobs for indigenes of the state despite what it termed “serial betrayal” or lack of reciprocation by the people.

The chairman of the group, Danladi Danasabe, who made the assertion yesterday, said after the Adamawa State Government, Mr. Abubakar is the second highest employer of labour in the state.

“I can confidently tell you that in terms of finances, the Turaki even spends more than the state government‎ as far as wage bill is concerned”.

Mr. Danasabe noted that Atiku’s companies, such as the Faro Group, Gotel TV and Radio stations, the American University of Nigeria and others, have provided direct and indirect jobs to over ‎50,000 citizens of the state.

He said despite all these laudable efforts,‎ the people, especially politicians, turn their backs on the former vice president in critical periods.

“The most annoying thing is that we understand many of the delegates to the national convention of the APC which produced Muhammadu Buhari as the party’s candidate did not vote for Turaki, that is most unfortunate”, he said.

The Think Tank said after the primary election, they feared that the former vice president has “had it” with the people.

“To our surprise he came back and set up two more new factories, an extension to Faro juice chain and an animal feed production company”, he said.

Mr. Danasabe called on Atiku to continue with his investments assuring him that “the ordinary man on the street remains grateful and appreciative”.
