When I saw the post berating the Governor of Delta State for appointing first, Mrs Happiness Odogwu as an SSA on Protocol ,and then yesterday, the husband,Comrade Dantes as an SA on Special Duties, I immediately knew that the self-appointed and unrepentant critics and cynics of the Governor were at it again.
I may not know why the writer presumed this gesture of the Governor to be MORALLY WRONG but much as I doubt that the writer (even if attempting to be callously mischievous) knows the meaning and import of using that phrase,I presume that it would have been the pleasure of Deltans if he had also taken the commensurate pains to outline cogent REASONS why he infers or deduces that the Governor's action was MORALLY wrong.
But quickly,I intend to interject my inquiry of this unpatriotic Deltan by asking what has become now morally wrong with someone (in this instance, the Delta State Governor)going ahead to reward individuals who are known to have laboured so tirelessly in his emergence as the Governor of Delta State even if COINCIDENTALLY,they happen to be a couple?
Rather than impute 'an appointive mishap ' where non really exists,shouldn't this writer ordinarily dwell on whether the couple so appointed are actually QUALIFIED AND COMPETENT to carry out their new assignments?
I am of the candid opinion that should this writer be afflicted with the ignoble vice of UNGRATEFULNESS,that Gov Okowa doesn't have to imitate him.However, why do I say so?Let me explain a little.
Talking about Comrade Dantes and his wife, isn't it on record that for Mrs Happiness Odogwu (who is unarguably accepted as the first female political appointee in this dispensation),her appointment was hailed loudly across the State as one well deserved?
Wasn't it a case that reflected how Deltans of all walks of life were sincere in their appreciation of His Excellency for deeming it fit to appoint a woman who everyone admits had paid her dues in terms of protocol -related matters especially that which pertained to the Okowability Mandate beginning even from the days of the Governor's sojourn as a Senatorial aspirant?
Moreover,as for Comrade Dantes himself, who,being conversant with the Social Media World would not admit that not only had the gentleman played very remarkable roles in birthing and pioneering the nascent CONCEPT of utilizing the Social Media as a viable tool of SOCIO-POLITICAL ENGINEERING and ENGAGEMENT,but has ever since,been at the forefront of championing the Governor's Okowability Mandate,his Prosperity for All Agenda and the Dream of a prosperous Delta State. So,does the Governor have to deny such a man a form of reward (even if it be in the nature e of an appointment )all just due to the lethal/morbid fear of him for the likes of this unpatriotic writer?
Lastly,since I have no intention of being verbose,I think it is proper to quickly sound it loud and clear to the Governor's sworn cynics that much as we believe that His Excellency has the responsibility of listening ACTIVELY to the people 's voices(afterall,they elected him),he owes no duty to unpatriotic persons who seek always to blackmail him into pandering to their misplaced wishes.
The Governor is on a Mission to bequeath on Delta State a legacy of pervasive Prosperity and Development and if in wanting to actualize this,he finds a couple qualified to join his purposeful Train or Team,what about it?
Definitely,what Deltans NEED now is nothing but purposeful Leadership and NOT the increasing recourse of some few Deltans to fan the embers of sectionalism,ethnic bigotry and unsubstantiated claims of cronyism.
Well,with reference to the writer's infantile impudence of claiming that Gov Okowa's Administration is dominated by prevarication and ineptitude,it is my humble wish that since that subject is NOT my primary intent of discourse here,that I shall response to such stupid insolence some other day
