Dame Okowa Urges Xtian Women To Reach Out To Less-Privileged


CHRISTIANS have been enjoined not to allow any situation deter them from the vision of reaching out to the less-privileged people in the society.

The wife of Delta State Governor, Dame Edit Okowa, who stated this yesterday, when members of Women Wing of Christian Council of Nigeria (WOWICCN), Delta State Chapter paid her a courtesy visit, advised them not to stop in adding value to the lives of the less-privileged people as they are doing it to uplift the name of God.

According to her , “we are all working to make heaven at the end of the day, so do not relent in doing good to people no matter the situation you find yourself”.

She commended the women for their prayers and support during the election period and enjoined them not to relent in praying for the state as the present government has the welfare of women at heart.

Dame Okowa, who also commended the group for the various activities they engaged themselves, stated that the present administration was poised to ensuring that Deltans, especially the women during got the dividends of democracy and urged everyone to remain peaceful as no meaningful development could thrive without peace.

Earlier, Mrs. Stella Oyibo, who led the women for the courtesy visit, said they came to felicitate and congratulate Her Excellency on her husband’s victory in the last election and to intimate her of their various activities which includes evangelism, prayer conference and empowerment programmes, among others.

She said that they are the women wing of Christian council of Nigeria, Delta Chapter made up of the church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Nigeria Baptist Convention, the Methodist Church, the Church of the Lord Aladura, and Salvation Army, among others.

While pledging their unalloyed love, loyalty and consistent prayer support for her Excellency, the family and the government of Delta State, she said that they would do everything not to disappointed anytime she call on them.

Highpoint of the occasion was the decoration of the Governor’s wife with a Association Clothe.
