We will partner with all pressure groups -- Okowa

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has assured all political pressure groups in the state of robust partnership with PDP, in the campaign leading to the February, 2015 general elections.

He gave the assurance when he received in audience the Delta State executive and members of Women for Change and Development Initiative, a non --governmental organisation, led by Chief Mrs Betty Efekhoda, who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Asaba.

He noted that every PDP member has very important role to play in the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections, and urged the women to mobilise and educate their fellow women and other Deltans across the state on the need to support and vote PDP.

"We will be working with everybody in the cause of the campaign. Women are very important and cannot be ignored. I believe this group has a great role to play in sensitising our people, especially the women, to participate fully in the forthcoming elections and to vote for the PDP, " he stated Senator Okowa while expressing appreciation for the visit, show of love and support, urged the people of the South -- South to rally round President Goodluck Jonathan, and ensure that the PDP gets the needed support.

While assuring the group of a robust working partnership, the PDP governorship candidate, thanked them for their hard work and commitment to the success of the President Jonathan Transformation Agenda. In a related development, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has praised President Goodluck Jonathan for the massive transformation going on in all sectors. He noted that a lot was being done by the federal goverment to improve the well being of Nigerians.

He gave the commendation when the leadership of Goodluck Jonathan Support Group, led by Chief Austin Izagbo, visited him at the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Campaign Office in Asaba.
According to him, "a lot is happening in the rail, agriculture, health, aviation, education and other sectors," noting that, "being able to contain the Ebola outbreak within a short space of time was a big achievement by this administration, and should therefore be appreciated by Nigerians."

Senator Okowa pointed out that President Jonathan has achieved a lot, in spite of some challenges, especially in the area of security, and so deserves another term, stressing that, "even in a seeming war situation, the president has succeeded in moving the nation forward. Nigerians should therefore, recognise these great efforts and achievements and continue to support the administration.

He therefore, urged members of the group to work hard for the re--election of President Goodluck Jonathan in next month's general elections, even as he stressed the need for them to remain proactive in the field campaigning for the PDP.
