Members of Owa Progressive Union (OPU), in the last week sent delegates to present over two thousand T-shirts to the Peoples Democratic Party guber candidate, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. The T-shirts of different sizes were inscribed “Vote 4 Okowa, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in . Okowa's photography imprint and courtesy, the group's name”.
In a chat with newsmen, one of the delegates, Mr. Christopher Alphonso told Ika Weekly that the T-shirts which were presented is a way the union is using to reaching out to Senator Okowa in his governorship race and calling on Deltans to vote for him. According to him, “I am thanking specially the Owa Monarch, His Royal Majesty Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II and all OPU members in for their advise and support towards the vision. My joy is that Senator Okowa heartly accepted our gesture not minding the small measure. Okowa is our son and brother. We are solidly behind him for we know him to be an agent of change. Yes, we are sure if Okowa is given the mandate, he will transform . I am appealing to the people of to vote massively for Okowa for a new Dawn era to come to the state. I wish him success at the general election come April 11, 2015”.
Mr. Alphonso concluded by stating that the people of Owa and Ika in general in diaspora are doing well and peace loving. He enjoined people yet to identify with them or Ika association to do so for their gathering is for unity and progress.
