The Niger Delta Youth Development Forum, an educational and social cultural organization which cuts across the 19 oil producing states in Nigeria, on January 16, 2015 called for support for the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Addressing the group during an enlarged meeting that took place recently, in Boji-Boji Owa, the national president, Comr. Stephen Asmabiri Freshman and Comr. Jacob Odinma, State deputy chairman, noted that the major reason for the establishment of the group in Ika nation is to fight against all forms of social vices in the local government. The group appealed to all Deltans most especially those in the Delta South and Delta Central Senatorial districts to rally round senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to enable him emerge the winner as governor of Delta State come February 28, 2015.
They said that Senator Okowa is an astute politician in Delta State who knows the right things for his people and do it for them irrespective of ethnic affiliation, qualification, family background and political parties they belong to. They therefore advised the youths in the oil producing states to shun violence and focus their minds on developmental activities. The group also appealed to the youths not to allow the greedy politician to buy their conscience with money.
