Al-Makura denies rift with deputy, advises Nasarawa APC to unite
Governor Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has described as “mischievous,” reports that he is at loggerheads with his Deputy, Mr. Dameshi Luka.
Dismissing the report on Wednesday in Lafia, during a meeting of the state Interim Management Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Al-Makura said it was mischievous for anyone to have concocted such story about him and his Deputy.
He blamed mischief makers who go about peddling such rumours, saying that the story was the “handiwork of mischief makers, who do not mean well for the development of the state.”
He buttressed thus; “Those waiting to see friction between me and my Deputy will have to wait till dooms day.”
Al-Makura asserted that the “giant strides recorded in the state within a short time” became possible through teamwork that was was visible in his administration, praising all officers, including the Deputy governor for the fit achieved so far.
He advised members of the APC in the state to “bury their personal interests and imbibe the spirit of sacrifice to enable the party to grow.”
Appealing to all party members to support the interim management committee, the governor advised them to avoid unnecessary political gimmicks that could cause disaffection in the party.
He said the recent claims that over 4,000 supporters of the APC in the state had defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, must be disregarded, as nothing of such happened.
