The Supreme Court has declared Ahmed Makarfi as the authentic National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Makarfi had approached the apex court to affirm him as the chairman of the party after the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt Rivers state had in February this year, ruled that former Borno state governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, was the authentic national chairman of PDP.
Makarfi who has the support of all the PDP state governors, filed a petition at the apex court and judgement was delivered in his favor this morning. This puts to rest the long leadership crisis that has plagued the party.
